ANDY KAHN (Pianist)
A superlative jazz soloist, accompanist and one of our finest pianistic and vocal interpreters of American popular song, Andy has had a long and multi-faceted career in the the entertainment field. He was the producer and writer of the #1 gold record performed by Karen Young, “Hot Shot;” was a recording artist/record producer under the aegis of The Robert Stigwood Organization. He co-founded Queen Village Recording Studios, one of the most successful recording/production facilities on the east coast. Kahn and drummer Bruce Klauber co-founded The All-Star Jazz Trio in 1972. Now, 42 years later, theirs remains one of the most popular small musical groups in the region.
BRUCE KLAUBER (Drummer)
Bruce Klauber continues the tradition of showmanship, and of the swinging musical technique, a la drummers Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. He performed regularly with Krupa and Rich’s saxophonist Charlie Ventura. He is Gene Krupa’s biographer, the producer/writer of the Warner Bros. “Jazz Legends” DVD series on Krupa, Rich and many other artists. When Bruce is not performing musically, he serves as Public Relations Director of the non-profit “Jazz Bridge,” an organization devoted to helping jazz and blues musicians in need. He is a contributing writer to Jazz Times Magazine and other national music publications. Klauber is also Entertainment Editor and jazz columnist for the award-winning monthly magazine, ICON.
BRUCE KAMINSKY (Bassist)
Bruce Kaminsky remains one of the most versatile and in-demand bassists on the east coast. An incomparable and inventive soloist and showman, Kaminsky is also a respected educator, serving in the music departments of Drexel University, University of the Arts and Montgomery County Community College; was a pioneer in the area of World Music; and is the inventor of the acoustic/electric bass hybrid, the KYDD bass, used by dozens of touring and recording artists all over the world.
